Job Title: Airport Security Officer

Join the Norfolk Airport Authority team as an Airport Security Officer and play a vital role in ensuring the safety and security of our passengers and staff.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Enforce all local, state, and federal laws and regulations within the airport jurisdiction.
  • Assist airlines and other airport tenants in security and police matters.
  • Investigate disturbances, losses by theft, and make arrests when necessary.
  • Issue traffic citations to those patrons who violate airport parking regulations and Virginia motor vehicle laws.

Requirements:

  • High school graduate or equivalent.
  • Specialized skills such as Bicycle Patrol, SWAT, Crime Prevention, Rifle Qualified, Crisis Intervention Training, Crisis Negotiation Training etc., preferred.
  • Six months of sworn basic law enforcement experience from a certified Virginia police agency to include satisfactory completion of all field training, required.
