Position Overview:
The Sanitation Specialist is tasked with upholding cleanliness standards across designated areas, ensuring adherence to all safety and health protocols.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Implement the Seven Step Cleaning Procedures and maintain department Floor Care Maintenance Procedures for assigned locations.
  • Thoroughly sanitize patient rooms and other designated areas.
  • Maintain cleanliness in lobby areas, public restrooms, stairwells, corridors, and elevators. Perform vacuuming and spot cleaning of carpets.
  • Adapt to meet departmental needs and objectives.
  • Practice cost-effective measures in daily operations.
  • Uphold confidentiality regarding patients, the hospital, and department matters, in compliance with HIPAA regulations.
  • Engage in ongoing professional development.
  • Must be capable of wearing N95 or CAPR (Controlled Air Purifying Respirator) in applicable isolation areas.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.

Qualifications:
Required:
- Minimum age of 16 years

Skills:
  • Proficient in using computers and/or mobile devices for daily job functions.
Ability to read and write in English at a 9th-grade level. Demonstrates respectful listening and open communication. Effectively organizes time and prioritizes tasks to ensure timely and accurate completion.

Preferred:
- High School Diploma or GED is preferred.
- Previous experience in healthcare housekeeping is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Certification as a Healthcare Environmental Services Technician (CHEST) and/or Certified Surgical Cleaning Technician (CSCT) is desirable.

Working Environment:
Potential exposure to toxic or caustic chemicals, hazardous materials, and bodily fluids. The role requires frequent lifting and moving of cleaning supplies and equipment weighing up to 50 pounds, as well as pushing and pulling of mops and powered cleaning equipment.
