Job Title: Certified Medical Assistant - OBGYN

We are seeking a highly skilled and compassionate Certified Medical Assistant to join our team at St. Peter's Health Partners Medical Associates in Clifton Park. As a Certified Medical Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing exceptional patient care and supporting our healthcare team.

Job Summary:

The Certified Medical Assistant will be responsible for performing various clinical and administrative tasks, including taking vital signs, preparing patients for exams, and assisting healthcare providers with procedures. You will also be responsible for maintaining accurate and up-to-date patient records, communicating effectively with patients and healthcare teams, and adhering to strict confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines.

Responsibilities:
  • Take accurate and timely vital signs, including blood pressure, temperature, and pulse
  • Prepare patients for exams, including escorting them to exam rooms and ensuring they are comfortable and prepared
  • Assist healthcare providers with procedures, including collecting and processing lab samples and preparing patients for exams
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date patient records, including documenting patient information and updating electronic medical records
  • Communicate effectively with patients and healthcare teams, including answering questions and providing education on patient care and treatment
  • Adhere to strict confidentiality and HIPAA guidelines, including protecting patient information and maintaining confidentiality
Requirements:
  • Current certification as a Medical Assistant (CMA) or equivalent
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred
  • At least 10 months' work and/or clinical training experience in the healthcare field
  • Proficient in obtaining manual vital signs and using electronic health record systems
  • Ability to lift 20 lbs and stand for long periods
Preferred Qualifications:
  • Graduate of a Medical Assistant Training Program
  • Holds National Medical Assistant Certification: CMA, CCMA, RMA
