Staff Nurse

Job Summary:
We are seeking a skilled and compassionate Staff Nurse to join our team at the Town of Greenwich, CT. As a Staff Nurse, you will be responsible for providing high-quality patient care to our residents, working collaboratively with our interdisciplinary team to ensure the best possible outcomes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Administer medications to residents, accurately recording all medications given and noting those which have been withheld.
- Complete all treatments as ordered by physicians, providing accurate documentation for procedures performed.
- Report any significant changes noted in residents, together with your assessment of the reasons for the change.
- Perform physical care of residents, either due to residents' needs, staffing needs, or to provide training to Nursing Assistants.
- Assist in charting and required documentation in regard to residents on the unit.
- Maintain records and forms as required.
- Provide resident and family education regarding health issues, documenting education content provided.
- Provide on-the-job training to Nursing Assistants as requested or needed, documenting education provided.
- Maintain an awareness of potential environmental factors related to safety, infection control, and quality of life, acting to correct deficiencies promptly when possible, or reporting the problem to the appropriate person for correction.
Requirements:
- Graduation from formal LPN training program as a Licensed Practical Nurse, plus one year of LPN experience in a SNF, convalescent or nursing home, hospital, or related healthcare facility, or the equivalent.
- Must possess Connecticut LPN License at time of application.
- Knowledge of geriatric nursing and geriatric pharmacology.
- Skilled in clinical competency and effective communication abilities.
- Knowledge of CPR.
Working Conditions:
This position carries a Blood and Body Fluid Exposure Risk Level I. Performance of this job description may entail exposure to blood and body fluids or other potentially infectious materials.
