Facilities Maintenance Associate

The Young Mens Christian Association of Rochester is seeking a highly motivated and detail-oriented Facilities Maintenance Associate to join our team. As a key member of our facilities team, you will be responsible for maintaining the cleanliness, sanitary conditions, and general maintenance of our facility, both inside and outside.
Responsibilities:- Clean and maintain bathrooms, offices, locker rooms, hallways, and other assigned areas, including vacuuming, mopping, scrubbing, and polishing.
- Perform minor maintenance repairs and tasks as directed by the Buildings & Grounds Director.
- Assist other departments with setup for meetings, special events, and other activities.
- During shutdown periods, be available to work if needed.
- Strip and polish floors, clean carpets, and perform other restorative cleaning activities.
- Empty and clean trash containers, move, rearrange, and dust furniture and fixtures.
- Clear snow and salt sidewalks in inclement weather or as needed.
- Report any damage or needed repairs to equipment, property, etc. to the supervisor.
- Use all cleaning supplies in the proper and efficient manner.
- Keep all cleaning closets clean and uncluttered during scheduled shifts.
- Interact with staff, members, and the general public in a professional and courteous manner.
- Assist in special projects at the branch or other Association facilities.
- Respond to emergencies appropriately in accordance with level of training and circumstances.
- Attend all mandatory training and meetings.
- Must be at least 18 years of age and possess a high school diploma or GED.
- Equivalent work experience will be considered.
- Strong teamwork skills and the ability to work independently.
- Good communication skills and ability to demonstrate good interaction skills with people.
- Experience or ability to comprehend general cleaning, disinfection, hard floor care, carpet care, wood floor care, and related equipment operation and maintenance.
- Ability to remain standing and moving for extended periods of time.
- Indoors and outdoors in normal environment with some exposure to noise, dust, fumes, vibrations, and temperature changes.
- Mobility within the building, including movement from floor to floor and outside the building.
- Ability to lift up to 50lbs. on a repetitive basis.
- May handle human body fluids and chemicals as part of daily operational duties.
