Job Title: Personal Care Assistant

We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated Personal Care Assistant to join our team at East Boston Neighborhood Health Center. As a Personal Care Assistant, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care to our participants, ensuring their comfort, safety, and well-being.

Job Summary:

The Personal Care Assistant will assist participants with personal care, restorative rehabilitation, meals, escort to medical appointments, and group and individual activities. This is a full-time position, working 7:00am-3:00pm Monday-Friday, including weekend/holiday rotations. A $2000 Sign-On Bonus is offered.

Responsibilities:
  • Greet participants upon arrival and help them get settled for the day.
  • Assist with serving coffee and snack on arrival and with noon meal service and cleanup.
  • Provide supervision and encouragement when needed.
  • Attend daily morning report.
  • Report participant concerns to appropriate staff members.
  • Prepare participants for departure in the afternoon by assisting with clothing and escorting to the vans.
  • Accompany participants on the van to ensure safety during transport when necessary.
  • Assist participants with ADLs per assignment, as defined in care plan and as needed.
  • Accompany participants to appointments as assigned.
  • Carry out simple treatments under the direction of nursing staff, including simple catheter care, skin checks during personal care.
Qualifications and Requirements:
  • Certification as Nursing Assistant or Home Health Aide required.
  • Bilingual in English and Spanish required.
  • A minimum of one year of experience working with the elderly or other frail populations.
  • Care and respect for frail elders.
  • Creativity and confidence in leading group activities.
  • Reliable transportation to travel to other sites when needed required.
