Job Summary

We are seeking a skilled and reliable Commercial Carpenter to join our team at Skillforce Inc. In this role, you will be responsible for constructing, installing, and repairing wooden structures and fixtures in commercial settings.

The ideal candidate will have experience in the carpentry industry, with a strong portfolio of completed projects. You will work on various projects, including office buildings, retail spaces, and other commercial properties, ensuring high-quality workmanship and adherence to safety standards.

Key Responsibilities
  • Construct and Install: Build, install, and repair wooden frameworks, including partitions, walls, and cabinetry, according to blueprints and specifications.
  • Measure and Cut: Accurately measure and cut wood and other materials using hand tools and power tools.
  • Read Blueprints: Interpret and work from blueprints, drawings, and specifications to determine project requirements and layout.
  • Maintain Safety: Follow all safety guidelines and protocols to ensure a safe working environment on job sites.
  • Collaborate: Work closely with other tradespeople, project managers, and clients to ensure project specifications are met.
  • Quality Control: Inspect and assess work to ensure it meets quality standards and client expectations.
  • Problem-Solving: Address and resolve any issues or discrepancies that arise during the construction or installation process.
  • Tool Maintenance: Maintain and care for tools and equipment, ensuring they are in good working condition.
  • Site Clean-Up: Keep work areas clean and organized, disposing of waste materials properly.
Qualifications
  • Experience: Proven experience as a commercial carpenter or in a similar role, with a strong portfolio of completed projects.
  • Skills: Proficient in using various hand and power tools, and a solid understanding of construction techniques and materials.
  • Blueprint Reading: Ability to read and interpret blueprints, drawings, and specifications accurately.
  • Physical Stamina: Ability to lift heavy materials, work in various weather conditions, and stand for extended periods.
  • Safety Compliance: Knowledge of and adherence to safety regulations and protocols.
  • Communication: Strong communication skills to effectively interact with team members, supervisors, and clients.
  • Certification: Relevant certifications or licenses (e.g., carpenter's license) preferred but not required.
