Job Summary:

Durability Test Drivers are responsible for performing designed test routes on public roads, conducting prescribed known and unknown deficiencies during testing of intended vehicle failures. They will also make observations of vehicle performance, ride, quality, and component failures, recording these observations in logs or electronic data systems as requested.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Track specific vehicle maneuvers identified by the Vehicle Test Engineering team while capturing test data.
  • Verify the maneuvers were conducted properly, accurate data was captured, and provide feedback comparing system performance against requirements.
  • Follow instructions according to pre-determined routes/instructions and document test event information throughout vehicle testing.
  • Evaluate vehicle performance & quality while performing test cycles and communicate observations to test technicians and engineers.
  • Support the Vehicle Test Technician team with troubleshooting data logging, maneuver, and testing issues.
  • Perform basic pre-drive vehicle safety check (fluids, tire pressure, tire tread condition, etc.).

Requirements:

  • Must have a valid driver's license for the United States and a clean driving record.
  • Must feel comfortable performing durability and vehicle performance test cycles in accordance with customer's test procedures.
  • Must be technologically inclined and feel comfortable working with computers.
  • Must demonstrate the ability to communicate clearly and professionally in both oral and written communications.
  • Must demonstrate good team skills and the ability to work with and learn from others.
