Job Summary

OSI Group is seeking a highly skilled Automation Technician to join our team. As an Automation Technician, you will be responsible for resolving and repairing equipment in the plant, performing general mechanical and electrical functions, and troubleshooting complicated equipment.

Key Responsibilities
  • Troubleshoot and resolve PLC/HMI/Motion problems, including replacing parts and programming, and verifying machine functions.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve VFD/Motion Drives issues.
  • Assist general maintenance in troubleshooting electrical/PLC-related issues during production.
  • Use precision instruments and hand tools to perform tasks.
  • Be available after hours for assistance and remote support.
  • Follow applicable safety and environmental requirements.
  • Stay up-to-date on product lifecycles to minimize downtime.
  • Understand lock-out/tag-out procedures.
  • Adjust equipment as needed to meet production demands.
  • Perform other duties as assigned.
  • Develop and maintain excellent organizational skills.
  • Read and interpret electrical schematics.
  • Demonstrate leadership, self-motivation, and non-directed work abilities.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering or equivalent work experience in PLC/HMI programming.
  • Previous experience in industrial electrical work.
  • Proficiency in troubleshooting, measurement tools, and instruments.
  • Ability to interpret schematics and pneumatics.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
