Division Chief of Pediatric Anesthesiology

We are seeking a highly qualified and experienced Division Chief to lead our Pediatric Anesthesiology team at the University of Virginia Department of Anesthesiology. As a key member of our leadership team, you will be responsible for promoting excellence in perioperative care for pediatric patients and driving the division's academic, clinical, and community missions.
Key Responsibilities:- Develop and implement strategies to optimize anesthesia services for pediatric surgical and interventional procedures.
- Collaborate with nursing leadership, surgeons, and proceduralists to ensure optimal workflow and quality care.
- Lead the development and maintenance of a robust pediatric sedation service.
- Address quality issues and concerns through proactive monitoring and improvement initiatives.
- Attend regular departmental leadership meetings and hold regular division meetings to discuss opportunities and challenges.
- Work closely with the residency director and Vice Chair for Education to ensure resident educational goals are met and evaluations are submitted in a timely manner.
- Develop and mentor division faculty, ensuring their growth and development in their specialty.
- Promote the academic mission of the division and ensure representation at national subspecialty meetings.
- Participate in the faculty annual evaluation process and ensure billing compliance within the division.
- MD or equivalent degree and completion of an anesthesiology residency program and pediatric anesthesiology fellowship.
- Significant leadership experience and a proven track record of success in academic and clinical settings.
- American Board of Anesthesiology certification or certification-eligible.
