About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Process Improvement Specialist to join our team at American BOA Inc. as a Process Improvement Engineer.

The ideal candidate will have a strong background in industrial engineering or mechanical engineering and a passion for optimizing manufacturing processes.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process Documentation: Develop and maintain clear and concise work instructions to ensure consistent process execution.
  • Time Studies: Conduct time studies to accurately measure cycle times and identify opportunities for improvement.
  • Line Balancing: Analyze and balance production lines to optimize workflow, minimize bottlenecks, and maximize output.
  • Process Improvement: Identify and implement process improvements to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve product quality.
  • Data Analysis: Collect and analyze data to identify trends, root causes, and potential solutions.
  • Continuous Improvement: Foster a culture of continuous improvement by encouraging employee involvement and problem-solving.
  • BOM Routing/Costing: Maintain and update Bill of Materials (BOM) routing and costing information in SAP to ensure accurate cost calculations and production planning.
  • Production Capacity Analysis: Analyze production capacity to identify constraints, optimize resource allocation, and ensure timely delivery of products.
Requirements
  • Bachelor's degree in Industrial Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or a related field.
  • Minimum 3 years of relevant experience in a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • Proficiency in data analysis tools (e.g., Excel, Minitab, SQL).
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Strong understanding of manufacturing processes, including welding and assembly.
  • Knowledge of lean manufacturing principles and Kaizen methodology.
  • Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
  • Strong project management and organizational abilities.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment.
  • Experience working with APQP projects.
  • Knowledge of quality tools (FMEA, PPAP, SPC, etc.).
Preferred Qualifications
  • Minimum of 3 years of experience in automotive manufacturing.
  • Experience with exhaust system manufacturing.
  • Knowledge of statistical process control (SPC).
  • Proficient with automation and robotics.
  • Experience with SAP or other ERP systems is preferred.
  • Proficiency in SolidWorks for fixture and gauge design.
  • Experience in welding processes and procedures.
  • Knowledge of robotic programming and operation.
