The Event Captain is a critical role at Atlanta Motorsports Park, responsible for overseeing the planning, organization, and execution of events. This position involves coordinating with clients, managing event staff, and ensuring that all events run smoothly and meet or exceed client and venue management expectations.
Key Responsibilities:- Event Planning and Coordination: Develop detailed event plans, including timelines, floor plans, and staffing requirements. Coordinate with various departments to ensure all aspects of the event are covered.
- Staff Management and Supervision: Recruit, train, and supervise event staff, including servers, bartenders, setup crew, etc. Assign tasks and responsibilities to staff, ensuring clear communication and understanding of duties.
- Food and Beverage Setup and Presentation: Oversee the setup of food and beverage areas, ensuring they meet client specifications and venue standards. Coordinate with the kitchen and catering teams to ensure timely preparation and presentation of food.
- Event Execution and Service: Supervise the execution of the event, ensuring that food and beverage service runs timely, smoothly and efficiently. Address any issues that arise promptly and efficiently, including special dietary requests or last-minute changes.
- Event Teardown and Cleanup: Oversee the breakdown and cleanup of food and beverage areas, ensuring all equipment and supplies are properly stored. Ensure that the venue is left in excellent condition, with all areas cleaned and reset as needed.
- A degree in hospitality management, event planning, or a related field is preferred.
- 3 years of experience in event management or supervision, with a strong understanding of event logistics and operations.
- Proven leadership and supervisory skills, with the ability to manage a diverse team.
- Excellent organizational and time-management skills.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
