Marcum LLP is in search of a Senior Tax Consultant to join our expanding and well-respected national firm.
Responsibilities
Possesses advanced technical expertise in accounting principles and reporting standards for researching, completing, and reviewing complex areas. Addresses inquiries on technical accounting issues from team members and upper-level client management.
Demonstrates intermediate to advanced tax preparation skills and conducts thorough reviews of the team's workflow, ensuring tasks are assigned and completed promptly.
Manages multiple assignments within an engagement. Communicates with Partners, Managers, and/or Supervising Seniors regarding work status and client-related issues that arise.Exhibits advanced proficiency in relevant accounting software (e.g., CCH Axcess Engagement, GFR, etc.). Participates in the planning and execution of client engagements in collaboration with the Manager and/or Partner.
Identifies opportunities to optimize staff utilization, including designing the staffing structure of engagements. Leads small to medium-sized assignments with finalized documents and reports requiring minimal revisions upon review. Trains, supervises, and mentors junior staff. Takes a proactive role in client and team meetings, contributing innovative ideas and strategic initiatives.Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree, preferably in accounting, with 3+ years of relevant work experience. Excellent verbal and written communication skills. Strong interpersonal abilities. Capability to work independently while also collaborating effectively with others.
Preferred Qualifications
CPA license or actively pursuing it. Master's degree in Accounting or Taxation. Advanced technical preparation and intermediate review skills in one of the industries served by our firm: e.g., Construction, Real Estate, High Net Worth, Manufacturing & Distribution, etc.
