- Advise clients on corporate tax services, including planning, research, compliance, and mergers and acquisitions activities.
- Serve as a career advisor, mentor, or coach to team members, providing honest and timely performance feedback.
- Assist with new business development, extended service, and tax issue recognition for existing clients.
- Develop, motivate, and train staff-level team members.
- Manage corporate client needs with respect to tax services and federal and state tax compliance.
- Review and research tax questions related to income tax compliance for federal, state, and ASC 740 purposes.
- Develop and sustain strong client relationships.
- Stay up-to-date on current tax practices and changes in tax law.
- Provide industry knowledge and experience.
- Ensure effective, proactive communication with external and internal stakeholders as necessary.
- Bachelor of Commerce, Bachelor of Business Administration (Finance), or Bachelor of Business Management (Finance) degree.
- 8 years of experience working in a public accounting firm with current tax experience, strong background in Partnerships, S Corporations, and C Corporations, and Commercial industries. ASC 740 experience is preferred.
- A proven record of building profitable, sustainable client relationships.
- A proven record of simultaneously managing multiple projects and engagement teams for various clients.
- EA or CPA certification.
- Strong communication and presentation skills.
- Experience in business/client-facing roles.
- Good project management and critical thinking skills.
- Experience in technical review of simple/moderate/complex tax returns/workpapers.
- Experience in a public accounting firm.
- Master of Business Administration (Finance) degree.
- Experience working for a Big 4 or large national accounting firm.
- Proficient in corporate taxation and consolidated tax returns.
- Technical/substantive review and analysis of federal, state, partnership, S corporation tax returns to provide high-quality work product.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills with the ability to articulate complex information.
- Review the calculation of ASC 740 tax provisions.
- Experience in dealing with international tax matters.
- Familiarity with tax research tools and tax preparation technology.
- Experience with OneSource Tax Provision Software.
- Experience with OneSource Income Tax - tax return preparation.
- Experience with CCH Access - tax return preparation.
- Experience with ASC 740 Purchase Accounting.
- Experience with M&A Purchase Price Allocations and Gain Calculations.
- Experience with large multi-state consolidated C corporations.

At RSM Global, an employee's pay at any point in their career is intended to reflect their experiences, performance, and skills for their current role. The salary range (or starting rate for interns and associates) for this role represents numerous factors considered in the hiring decisions, including education, skills, work experience, certifications, location, etc. As such, pay for the successful candidate(s) could fall anywhere within the stated range.
Compensation Range: $92,600 - $174,900
Individuals selected for this role will be eligible for a discretionary bonus based on firm and individual performance.
