Job Summary

Parkland Health and Hospital System is seeking a skilled Radiologic Technologist to join our Diagnostic Imaging team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for acquiring high-quality diagnostic radiographic images for various imaging procedures.

Key Responsibilities
  • Acquire quality diagnostic radiographic images for all diagnostic imaging procedures in assigned areas of Radiology.
  • Participate in quality review programs to ensure optimal patient care.
  • Understand and adhere to radiation safety regulations and infection control standards established by Parkland and accreditation agencies.
  • Utilize technical knowledge and skills to perform procedures accurately and in a timely manner.
  • Administer contrast material in the correct dosage and observe patients for adverse reactions.
  • Enter accurate patient exam data into the electronic health record.
  • Maintain equipment, including running quality assurance checks and notifying supervisors of maintenance needs.
  • Transport patients to and from radiographic areas as needed.
  • Participate in departmental Performance Improvement Programs and promote Parkland Health's mission, vision, and values.
Requirements
  • Graduate of an accredited Radiology Program.
  • American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) certification in Radiography (R) upon hire.
  • Texas Department of State Health Services (TDSHS) Medical Radiologic Technologist (MRT) certification upon hire.
  • Current Healthcare Provider CPR course completion card or obtain certification during initial orientation at Parkland.
  • Excellent time management, organizational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Strong oral and written communication skills.
  • Knowledge of Radiologic equipment.
  • Patient-centered/patient-valued behaviors.
