Job Summary:

As a 3rd Shift Warehouse Operations Supervisor at Aldi Inc., you will be responsible for overseeing the daily operations of our warehouse, ensuring the efficient and safe movement of products, and leading a team of warehouse associates to achieve exceptional results. This is a challenging and rewarding role that requires strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Establish and modify daily work schedules to meet warehouse needs.
  • Coordinate job activities and tasks of direct reports, ensuring timely and accurate completion.
  • Oversee the receiving and shipping of products, ensuring compliance with established guidelines.
  • Monitor processes for inbound and outbound deliveries, identifying areas for improvement.
  • Develop and implement action plans to improve operating results, collaborating with other departments as needed.
  • Communicate job responsibilities and performance expectations to direct reports, ensuring mutual understanding and desired results.
  • Model the company's strategy and core values, creating a sense of teamwork and membership among employees.
  • Interact effectively with peers, sharing information and operating in accordance with shared warehouse management objectives.
  • Collaborate with other divisional operational areas, communicating relevant information to support their duties.
  • Communicate with District Managers and store management as necessary.
  • Provide input and recommendations to the Warehouse Operations Manager regarding changes to improve the operation.
  • Monitor service providers within the warehouse, ensuring acceptable performance.
  • Ensure communication with the in-house carrier regarding daily schedule changes and needs.
  • Monitor the competitive environment, informing management of necessary adjustments to maintain the company's competitive position.
  • Recommend personnel for advancement and termination as appropriate.
  • Address warehouse issues, escalating or referring concerns to peers, 3rd parties, or other management as necessary, upholding established standards for equitable treatment of warehouse personnel.
  • Oversee the activities of warehouse personnel, ensuring effectiveness and efficiency in day-to-day operations.
  • Lead, plan, and facilitate regularly scheduled Warehouse Associate meetings.
  • Train and develop direct reports to achieve their maximum professional potential, retaining a motivated and productive workforce.
  • Observe and evaluate employees' work performance, providing feedback and coaching as necessary, including completion of annual performance reviews.
  • Supervise the timely, accurate, and efficient storage of product, supplies, and equipment.
  • Supervise warehouse teams to ensure compliance with food safety, sanitation, maintenance, and operational safety guidelines and procedures.
  • Oversee warehouse personnel to ensure compliance with federal, state, and local regulations.
  • Monitor and manage controllable expenses, providing inventory and efficiency results and making employee payroll adjustments as necessary.
  • Ensure a safe environment by identifying and rectifying hazards, ensuring proper ergonomics, and maintaining equipment in proper working order.
  • Manage direct reports to ensure compliance with established policies and procedures, including but not limited to those outlined in the Employee Handbook and Procedures Manuals.
  • Other duties as assigned.

Requirements:

  • High School Diploma or equivalent preferred.
  • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment, adapting to changing priorities and deadlines.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills, with the ability to motivate and develop direct reports.
  • Strong problem-solving and analytical skills, with the ability to identify areas for improvement and implement solutions.
  • Ability to work effectively in a team environment, collaborating with peers and other departments as needed.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite, with the ability to prepare written materials and communicate effectively with internal and external parties.
  • Ability to stay organized and multi-task in a professional and efficient manner, with attention to detail and a focus on achieving results.
