Abilities Inc. is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Direct Care Staff to join our team. As a Direct Care Staff, you will play a vital role in providing high-quality care and support to individuals with disabilities.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide Personal Care Services: Assist residents with daily living activities, such as bathing, dressing, and grooming, while promoting their independence and dignity.
- Supervise and Support Residents: Supervise residents within their Individual Service Plans (ISPs) and Behavioral Support Plans (BSPs), and provide support and guidance to help them achieve their goals.
- Maintain a Safe and Clean Environment: Ensure that the facility is clean, safe, and free from hazards, and promote a homelike environment that encourages residents to take ownership of their living space.
- Prepare Meals and Snacks: Prepare meals and snacks according to the posted menu, and ensure that residents have access to healthy and nutritious food options.
- Transport Residents: Safely transport residents to and from appointments, activities, and other destinations, as delegated by your supervisor.
- Administer Medications: Administer medications to residents as prescribed by their physicians, and monitor their response to medication.
- Document Resident Information: Accurately document resident information, including their medical history, treatment plans, and progress notes.
- Participate in Training and Development: Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance your skills and knowledge, and stay up-to-date on industry best practices.
- Collaborate with Team Members: Work collaboratively with other team members to ensure that residents receive comprehensive and coordinated care.
Requirements:
- High School Diploma or Equivalent: Must have a high school diploma or equivalent, and be at least 18 years old.
- Criminal Background Check: Must pass a criminal background check, and provide proof of rehabilitation if applicable.
- Availability: Must be available to work 8-hour shifts, every other Saturday and Sunday.
- Communication Skills: Must have excellent communication skills, and be able to work effectively with residents, family members, and other team members.
- Basic Computer Skills: Must have basic computer skills, and be able to use electronic charting systems.
