Agave Ridge Behavioral Health Hospital is a newly established facility dedicated to providing top-tier behavioral health services. Our state-of-the-art hospital is designed to cater to the needs of our community, offering a comprehensive range of inpatient care for adults facing various behavioral health challenges.

As a 100-bed acute care psychiatric institution, we specialize in treating individuals experiencing severe symptoms related to anxiety, depression, bipolar disorder, and post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD).

Key Responsibilities


As an Admissions RN, you will be integral to facilitating a seamless admissions experience for our patients.

Your clinical skills, meticulous attention to detail, and collaborative approach will be essential in delivering superior care.

Core Duties:

  • Evaluate medical documentation for all admissions, conduct medication reconciliation, and secure admission orders from physicians.
  • Manage emergency transfers for patients requiring care beyond our facility's capabilities.
  • Assess referrals from hospitals and community agencies, determining medical and behavioral acuity while adhering to response timeframes.
  • Address inquiries regarding our services, providing relevant information and recommendations.
  • Conduct assessments to ascertain the appropriate level of care for patients.
  • Collaborate with medical and psychiatric teams to ensure suitable recommendations and admissions.
  • Oversee the admissions process, including assessments, consent, and inventory of patient belongings.
  • Perform insurance benefit verifications and obtain initial pre-authorization for treatment and admissions.
  • Monitor patient status throughout the admissions journey, in accordance with facility policies and physician directives.
  • Utilize digital platforms to track and manage referrals.
  • Communicate anticipated admissions to designated internal personnel promptly.
  • Ensure timely acquisition of all clinical information from referral sources or patients.
  • Schedule and conduct pre-admission assessments, liaising with admitting physicians and conveying recommendations to patients or their families.
  • Maintain accurate medical record documentation to facilitate payor authorization at the required level of care.
  • Complete initial pre-authorization for treatment and admissions within payor guidelines.
  • Register patients in the system, finalizing all necessary admission and consent documentation.
  • Exhibit a compassionate, professional demeanor towards patients, prioritizing their safety and addressing any concerns or complaints promptly.
  • Coordinate care for patients not admitted, ensuring they receive appropriate follow-up and referrals.
  • Conduct safety checks and provide supervision as dictated by special precautions and individualized care plans.

Qualifications

Required Qualifications:

  • An Associate's degree in Nursing or higher.
  • At least one year of experience in a clinical or observational role, preferably in a relevant specialty.

Licenses/Certifications:

  • A valid and active nursing license in the state.
  • CPR and de-escalation/restraint certification required (training provided upon hire).
  • First aid certification may be necessary based on state or facility regulations.
