Job Description
We are seeking a skilled Patient Care Technician to join our team at St. David's South Austin Medical Center. As a Patient Care Technician, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality patient care by performing various delegated tasks related to nursing functions and activities of daily living.

Responsibilities:
  • Provide high-quality patient care by participating in the implementation of nursing care plans, obtaining and recording patient information, and assisting patients with mobility.
  • Collect and process specimens for diagnostic or waived tests, ensuring accuracy of all labels and timely transfer of specimen.
  • Engage in evidence-based best practices that enhance the patient experience, including SAFETY rounding, communication fundamentals/AIDET, Teach-Back, Narrating Care, etc.

Requirements:
  • BLS certification within 30 days of employment start date.
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support must be obtained within 30 days of employment start date.
  • High school diploma or equivalent required; associate's degree or higher preferred.
