About the Role

We are seeking a dynamic and results-oriented Director of Hotel Sales to lead our sales team and drive revenue growth. This strategic leadership role will be responsible for developing and executing comprehensive sales strategies across all market segments, fostering strong client relationships, and maximizing profitability.

Key Responsibilities
  • Sales Strategy Development: Develop and implement innovative sales plans to optimize revenue generation across diverse market segments. Collaborate with the executive team to align sales objectives with the overall business goals of the property. Identify emerging market trends and opportunities to enhance our competitive position.
  • Team Leadership and Management: Lead, mentor, and inspire a high-performing sales team, fostering a culture of excellence and accountability. Set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback to drive individual and team success. Promote collaboration and synergy between the sales department and other key functions within the hotel.
  • Business Development: Cultivate and nurture relationships with key corporate accounts, travel agencies, event planners, and local businesses. Proactively seek out new business opportunities to expand our customer base and generate new revenue streams. Negotiate and finalize contracts with clients to ensure mutually beneficial partnerships.
  • Revenue Generation: Develop and manage sales budgets, forecasting revenue and setting achievable targets. Analyze sales performance data to identify trends, areas for improvement, and growth opportunities. Implement effective pricing strategies and promotional campaigns to drive revenue growth while maintaining profitability.
  • Marketing and Promotions: Collaborate closely with the marketing team to develop and execute integrated marketing initiatives that support our sales strategy. Contribute to the creation of compelling promotional materials, advertising campaigns, and online content to attract potential clients.
  • Market Analysis: Conduct thorough competitive market analysis to identify strengths, weaknesses, opportunities, and threats within the industry. Stay abreast of emerging trends, economic factors, and changes in customer preferences to adapt our sales strategy accordingly.
  • Reporting and Communication: Provide regular updates to the executive team on sales performance, market insights, and relevant industry developments. Prepare comprehensive sales reports, presentations, and recommendations to support strategic decision-making.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Business Administration, Hospitality Management, or a related field. Master's degree preferred but not required.
  • Minimum of 5 years of progressive sales experience within the hospitality industry, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Proven track record of exceeding sales targets and achieving revenue goals.
  • Strong understanding of hotel operations, market segmentation, and revenue management principles.
  • Exceptional interpersonal and negotiation skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong client relationships.
  • Excellent leadership skills, including the ability to motivate, coach, and manage a sales team effectively.
  • Proficiency in using sales and customer relationship management (CRM) software.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Flexibility to work irregular hours and travel as needed.
