Quality Assurance Specialist

This is a routine, repetitive, and diversified role involving the visual, manual, and instrument checking of molded and assembled plastic parts to ensure conformance to customer standards. The Quality Inspector will use various measuring instruments to check dimensional qualities, visual acuity to assure appearance standards, and physical test instruments to ensure effort standards. The role requires good color judgment and involves minor judgment in some areas based on general knowledge of Statistical Process Control, sampling techniques, and departmental standards.
Key Responsibilities
• Inspect and verify dimensional, appearance, and effort qualities of various plastics, molded parts, and assembled parts, including color.
• Set up and use various test instruments to determine compliance with company quality standards.
• Read and review blueprints to determine compliance with customer and company standards.
• Label, reject, accept, or place holds on parts and material that are acceptable/unacceptable.
• Bring unacceptable material, parts, and assemblies to the attention of workers and supervision, so corrective action can be taken.
• Visually examine material, parts, and assemblies to verify compliance with customer and company standards of appearance.
• Manually check assembled parts to assure proper functioning in accordance with customer and company standards.
• Work as a team player on the floor and in problem-solving meetings.
• Perform as an Auditor.
Requirements
• High School Diploma or GED.
• Ability to gather and analyze information and make decisions from a limited number of choices.
• Ability to follow oral and written direction and work independently in accord with standard procedures.
• Minimum score of 50 on the Wonderlic Select Assessment (Traditional score of 16 on the cognitive portion).
