Role Summary

The Client Support Associate is tasked with ensuring a safe and profitable environment while delivering outstanding customer service. This role is classified as hourly and non-exempt, reporting directly to the Store Manager regarding the management and functionality of the retail establishment. If you thrive in a dynamic, team-focused atmosphere, this position is tailored for you.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Deliver exceptional and courteous customer service, addressing concerns promptly and tactfully.
  • Employ suggestive selling strategies to enhance sales while fostering strong customer relationships.
  • Accurately process transactions at the cash register, manage cash and various payment methods, and adhere to cash handling protocols to mitigate losses.
  • Operate the Point of Sale (POS) system and other related equipment as necessary.
  • Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the retail space, including routine upkeep of equipment.
  • Ensure appropriate inventory levels and assist with closing procedures at the end of shifts.
  • Work independently with minimal supervision and may be required to adjust to irregular hours.
  • Report any suspicious activities or dishonesty observed among customers, vendors, or staff, and adhere to company policies regarding loss prevention.
  • Participate in all mandatory training sessions and employee meetings.

Physical Demands:
  • Ability to stand and/or walk for the duration of the shift.
  • Capability to lift and carry items weighing up to 60 lbs. from ground to waist level as necessary.
  • Ability to lift and carry items weighing up to 30 lbs. from ground to overhead for short durations.
  • Strength to push and pull with arms exerting up to 20 lbs. of force.
  • Ability to bend and twist at the waist for extended periods.
  • Dexterity to grasp, reach, and manipulate objects; may include climbing to retrieve items.

Work Conditions:
  • Majority of tasks performed indoors.
  • Occasional exposure to cold temperatures in storage areas.
  • Work may involve small spaces and requires independence.
  • Minimal supervision with periodic oversight.

Equipment Used:
  • Electronic devices such as POS systems, store telephones, and various payment processing machines.
  • Manual tools including cleaning supplies and transport equipment.
  • Handling of various materials including liquids and cleaning agents.

Qualifications:
  • High School diploma or GED preferred.
  • Prior experience in retail or customer service is advantageous.
  • Dependable attendance and punctuality.
  • Effective communication skills in English, both verbal and written.
  • Basic arithmetic skills.
  • Ability to work both independently and collaboratively as needed.
