Job Description

As a highly experienced Senior/Principal Design Civil Engineer with our road, highway, and rail/transit team, you will have the opportunity to work on diverse transportation projects including rail and transit, road and highway, bridge and tunnel, and aviation infrastructure.

You will be responsible for designing horizontal and vertical geometry for highway and road projects, analyzing cross sections, calculating super-elevations, grading vertical alignments and horizontal impacts for roads and highways in California.

You will also lead and mentor junior engineers and less experienced staff on various transportation projects, perform vertical clearance calculations, grading and permit/plan preparation, as well as use existing horizontal alignments to design new roadway alignments.

We offer hybrid remote working (allowed to work from home virtual 2-3 days per week) and a competitive salary range of $83,300 - $168,700.

Requirements
  • A minimum of 4-year Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering (or related field). Master's degree is desirable.
  • Candidates with 8 years or more of related road/highway design will be considered, and a preference is for candidates with substantial Horizontal/vertical geometrics work experience.
  • Experience designing highways, roads, intersections, calculating vertical clearances and drafting in CAD (either AutoCAD or MicroStation) is preferred. Experience with complex interchanges and rampway design.
  • PE license in California or other states is highly preferred. Any experience with Caltrans projects is highly desirable.
