Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled Medical Laboratory Scientist I to join our team at Sonora Quest. As a key member of our laboratory team, you will be responsible for performing complex laboratory testing, ensuring accuracy and quality, and contributing to process improvements.

Key Responsibilities
  • Testing and Quality Control: Perform laboratory testing in a timely and accurate manner, adhering to established policies and procedures.
  • Problem-Solving and Decision-Making: Participate in problem-solving activities, using advanced decision-making skills to resolve complex issues.
  • Compliance and Regulatory Affairs: Ensure compliance with accrediting agencies and regulatory requirements, such as CLIA '88, JCAHO, and CAP.
  • Inventory Management and Financial Analysis: Monitor and control inventory, providing financial data to support departmental performance.
  • Training and Development: Participate in training and competency assessments, providing input for employee development and growth.
  • Customer Service and Communication: Provide educational information to internal and external customers, demonstrating effective verbal and written communication skills.
Requirements
  • Education: Bachelor's degree in medical laboratory science, chemical or biological science, or related field.
  • Certification: MLS or categorical certification (ASCP, AMT, HEW, AAB) or equivalent.
  • Experience: Previous experience in laboratory testing, phlebotomy, and processing.
