Position Overview:
We are in search of a skilled Estimator specializing in Commercial Concrete within the Construction Industry. This role presents an exciting chance to be part of a new team within a billion-dollar organization focused on growth. The ideal candidate will possess extensive experience in commercial construction, particularly in concrete projects, and demonstrate a successful history in preconstruction. The position will primarily involve large-scale undertakings such as airports, stadiums, and convention centers. A successful candidate will exhibit precision in estimation, attention to detail, and a commitment to delivering high-quality projects on schedule and within budget.
Key Responsibilities:
1. Develop comprehensive cost estimates by analyzing project plans and specifications and performing quantity take-offs for designated trades.
2. Collaborate with project management teams to gain a thorough understanding of project requirements and specifications.
3. Review and assess cost estimates to ensure accuracy and thoroughness.
4. Engage in proposal development and client presentations.
5. Provide technical assistance to project management and business development teams.
6. Assess subcontractor and supplier quotes to confirm compliance with project specifications.
7. Maintain an extensive database of cost and statistical information.
8. Work alongside architects, engineers, clients, contractors, and subcontractors on project cost estimates.
9. Stay informed about the latest industry trends and advancements in commercial concrete construction.
10. Participate in project meetings to contribute to planning and scheduling.
Qualifications:
1. A minimum of 3+ years of experience as an estimator in the commercial construction sector, particularly in concrete construction.
2. Proven experience in preconstruction and involvement in large-scale projects such as airports, stadiums, and convention centers.
3. Advanced understanding of estimating methodologies, cost control, and material pricing.
4. Proficiency in industry-specific software for cost estimation and take-off.
5. Strong analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
6. Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
7. Strong organizational abilities with the capacity to manage multiple projects concurrently.
8. Ability to work effectively in a collaborative team environment.
9. A bachelor's degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, or a related discipline is preferred.
10. A comprehensive understanding of the construction industry and a commitment to staying current with the latest trends and advancements.
