Senior Construction Estimator

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled Senior Construction Estimator to join our team. As a Senior Construction Estimator, you will be responsible for preparing accurate and detailed estimates for commercial construction projects. You will work closely with our clients, vendors, and team members to ensure that all estimates are comprehensive and meet the highest standards.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Analyze blueprints, specifications, and proposals to prepare time, cost, and labor estimates.
  • Conduct special studies to develop and establish standard hour and related cost data.
  • Consult with clients, vendors, and team members to discuss and formulate estimates.
  • Prepare estimates used by management for planning, organizing, and scheduling work.
  • Review material and labor requirements to decide whether it is more cost-effective to produce or purchase components.
  • Prepare cost and expenditure statements and other necessary documentation.
  • Establish and maintain a directory of suppliers, contractors, and subcontractors.
  • Set up cost monitoring and reporting systems and procedures.
  • Establish and maintain tendering process, and conduct negotiations.

Requirements:

  • A minimum of 5 years of experience in estimating in commercial construction.
  • Bachelor's degree in construction management, engineering, or related field is preferred.
  • Proven experience in managing all aspects of construction estimation, from conceptual to detailed, including all phases of construction.
  • Strong negotiation skills, with a proven track record of successfully negotiating contracts and bids.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong analytical and critical thinking skills.
  • Proficiency in relevant software, including estimation software, project management software, and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Familiarity with industry standards and regulations.
  • Ability to multitask and manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced environment.
  • A keen eye for detail.
