ROLE SUMMARY
The Systems Engineer plays a crucial role in the successful execution of engineering initiatives and projects. This position involves:
- Contributing to the successful completion of targeted engineering programs.
- Developing innovative solutions to a range of intricate engineering challenges.
- Engaging in comprehensive systems design, development, and integration throughout the entire lifecycle of systems.
- Managing complex infrastructure, which includes the installation, configuration, testing, and maintenance of operating systems, application software, and system management tools.
- Conducting advanced systems modeling, simulation, and analysis.
- Preparing and maintaining thorough documentation for processes and procedures associated with engineering projects.
- Staying updated with the latest advancements in rapidly evolving technology.
- Providing mentorship and guidance to junior professionals.
- Possibly leading a team or specific tasks.
EDUCATIONAL REQUIREMENTS:
A Bachelor’s degree or an equivalent combination of education, technical training, or relevant work/military experience.
EXPERIENCE AND QUALIFICATIONS
At least 8 years of relevant experience in systems engineering is required. An active TS/SCI clearance is mandatory, with eligibility for a CI polygraph.
ESSENTIAL SKILLS
- Proficiency in Linux system administration.
- Experience with scripting and coding (Bash, Python, etc.).
- Familiarity with Kubernetes.
- Knowledge of Ansible.
- Experience with Helm charts.
- Expertise in automation processes.
PREFERRED SKILLS
Deep knowledge in one of the following areas along with working knowledge in others:
- Operational support.
- Virtualization technologies (VMware, virtual networking, vROPS, XenServer/XCP-ng).
- Red Hat Enterprise Linux, YUM, Satellite, Capsule technologies.
- Infrastructure as Code (IaC).
- Ceph storage platform.
- GitLab.
