We are seeking a skilled Physical Therapist to join our team at Rebecca School LLC, where we provide therapeutic day schools serving children ages 3 to 21 with neurodevelopmental delays, including autism spectrum disorders.

Compensation

We offer a competitive salary range of $65-$75 per hour, depending on education and experience.

Job Description

As a Physical Therapist at Rebecca School, your primary responsibility will be to deliver physical therapy services to students with special needs. This includes administering pediatric physical therapy assessments to determine a student's level of function in areas such as fine/gross motor skill development, sensory motor integration, self-care, and activities of daily living.

You will prepare written assessment reports identifying the student's needs and proposed treatment strategies, goals, and objectives, and maintain progress records. You will also provide individual treatment and group therapy sessions to correct specific areas of sensory motor integrative dysfunction and social/emotional issues.

In addition, you will educate team members on facilitation of implemented techniques or modalities, such as brushing, deep pressure, vibration, oral motor, feeding, HWT, etc. You will monitor therapy and educational staff trained to incorporate appropriate physical therapy treatment strategies into instruction, evaluate effectiveness, and make modifications within the PT framework of the DIR model.

You will collaborate and coordinate physical therapy goals with instruction, communicate with parents or guardians through conferences and other means to discuss student progress, and maintain professional competence by attending staff development programs and continuing education programs.

You will participate in weekly Greenspan meetings, team meetings, and staff training, and possess effective verbal and written communication skills, as well as the ability to establish and maintain professional working relationships with students, staff, and parents.

Qualifications
  • Master's Degree in Physical Therapy or related field
  • Licence to practice Physical Therapy in NYS
  • State Certification in Physical Therapy
