Position Overview: Edgesource is on the lookout for a skilled Lead Software Engineer to become a vital part of our dynamic team, contributing to a U.S. Government client project in the Chantilly, VA area. As a member of our talented development group, you will be instrumental in the design, development, and implementation of diverse systems. Currently, our focus is on the containerization of a substantial Service Bus architecture, and your expertise will be essential for the success of our mission-critical systems. This role necessitates a TS/SCI with polygraph security clearance and requires full-time, onsite work.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Collaborate within a small team in a secure environment to design and test microservices developed in Python.
  • Create Docker containers to host microservices.
  • Develop Helm Charts to manage runtime cloud configurations.
  • Utilize GitLab for source code management and CI/CD pipeline maintenance.
  • Gather and analyze evolving project requirements.
Required Qualifications:
  • Extensive Software Development Experience: 10 years with a Bachelor's degree or 14 years without.
  • Proficiency in building microservices using Python.
Preferred Qualifications (NOT REQUIRED):
  • Experience in several of the following areas:
    • Web Service integrations (REST, SOAP, OpenAPI)
    • Docker containers
    • Pydantic
    • Pytest
    • Redis
    • FastAPI
    • Helm Charts
    • Kubernetes
