Job Summary

We are seeking a highly qualified adjunct instructor to join our team at Lewis University. The successful candidate will be responsible for teaching didactic academic courses in the Speech-Language Pathology curriculum, including undergraduate prerequisite and graduate courses.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and teach courses in the SLP curriculum, including undergraduate prerequisite and graduate courses
  • Record assessment data regarding student achievement at midterm and end of each semester
  • Participate in faculty meetings upon request of the SLP Department Chair
Requirements

The ideal candidate will hold an earned master's or doctoral degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders or Speech-Language Pathology, with at least 5 years of clinical experience, including expertise in the area to be instructed. The candidate must also hold the Certificate of Clinical Competence in speech-language pathology (CCC-SLP) from the American Speech-Language-Hearing Association (ASHA), and must hold the Illinois state speech-language pathology license.

Preferred Qualifications

A history of university teaching experience is preferred.

Work Environment

This is a part-time, as-needed position. The successful candidate will be hired for Summer 2020, Fall 2020, and Spring 2021.
