Position Overview:
Dewberry is seeking a Lead Civil Engineering Specialist to join our dynamic team. This role is pivotal in our mission to deliver comprehensive consulting services to a diverse clientele.
Key Responsibilities:
- Conduct quality control reviews for engineering plans, calculations, and reports.
- Oversee project engineering and design initiatives.
- Engage with municipal, state, and federal agencies on behalf of Dewberry.
- Manage project tasks including street, parking lot, and trail design, as well as utility planning for storm drains, sanitary sewers, and water systems.
- Assist in determining project scope and fee structures for engineering services.
- Support the development of weekly project schedules and task coordination.
- Mentor and train junior staff members.
- Facilitate the design review process and manage permitting through external agencies.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering or a related field.
- A minimum of 12 years of experience in site/civil design and infrastructure projects.
- Professional Engineer license in Maryland; additional licenses in Washington, DC, and Delaware are preferred.
- Proficient in AutoCAD, Civil 3D, and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Strong understanding of hydraulic and hydrologic modeling software.
- Exceptional communication skills, both written and verbal, for effective interaction with clients and stakeholders.
