Radiation Therapist Job Description

Riverside Health System is seeking a skilled Radiation Therapist to join our team. As a Radiation Therapist, you will play a critical role in delivering high-quality patient care and ensuring the safe and effective use of radiation therapy equipment.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Apply ionizing radiation in accordance with prescriptions and instructions from radiation oncologists.
  • Perform standard radiation treatment procedures, including 3D, IMRT/VMAT, and image-guided treatment delivery.
  • Verify completion and accuracy of consent, perform timeout prior to all procedures, and use tattoos and setup marks appropriately.
  • Collaborate with medical doctors, physicists, and fellow team members to ensure accurate treatment.
  • Follow safe practices as referenced in the National Patient Safety Goals, RHS Team Up For Safety, and the RHS Code of Ethics.
  • Manage treatment schedules efficiently, proactively notify patients of delays or cancellations, and demonstrate ability to prioritize and accomplish assignments with accuracy and timeliness.
Qualifications:
  • Bachelor's Degree in Radiation Therapy (preferred).
  • 1 year of clinical experience or radiation therapy program experience caring for cancer patients, operating a linear accelerator, and CT simulator (preferred).
  • RTT Level 1: Cone Beam CT (CBCT), Intensity Modulated Radiation therapy (IMRT), Volumetric arc therapy (VMAT).
  • Radiation Therapist - The American Registry of Radiologic Technologists (ARRT) Radiation Therapy license (ARRT) (T) Upon Hire (required).
  • CPR/BLS Certification - American Heart Association/American Red Cross/American Safety and Health Institute (AHA/ARC) Upon Hire (required).
