Job Title: Health and Safety Compliance Specialist

Vets Hired is seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Compliance Specialist to join our team. As a key member of our organization, you will be responsible for ensuring a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Safety Meetings and Training: Conduct regular safety meetings for all employees, including planning, developing, implementing, and administering accident prevention and job training programs.
  • Confidentiality and Record-Keeping: Maintain the integrity and confidentiality of sensitive human resource and management information records.
  • Regulatory Compliance: Monitor and coordinate motor carrier regulations for the cooperative, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws and regulations.
  • Drug and Alcohol Testing: Administer random drug and alcohol testing, accurately recording and filing all applicable results.
  • Incident Investigation: Conduct thorough investigations into all incidents, including vehicular accidents, property damage, and work procedure errors, maintaining all required documentation.
  • Representative and Coordinator: Represent the company in a professional capacity for court or trial cases, coordinating with the Security Specialist to conduct new employee orientation and directing the shipping and cleanup of hazardous wastes.
  • Accommodations and Return to Work: Coordinate and direct the return to work, accommodations, and limited duty program, ensuring a smooth transition for employees.
  • Inspections and Hazard Identification: Perform regular jobsite and facility work/equipment inspections, identifying and anticipating safety and health concerns and hazards.
  • Professional Development: Continuously work towards self-development, maintaining professional and technical knowledge by attending educational workshops, reviewing professional publications, and participating in professional societies.
