About the Role

Portsmouth Regional Hospital is seeking a skilled and compassionate RN OR First Assist to join our surgical team. As a key member of our perioperative team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest level of patient care and satisfaction.

Responsibilities

  • Assist surgeons during surgical procedures, providing support and expertise to ensure optimal patient outcomes
  • Monitor patient vital signs and provide general nursing care before and after surgery
  • Ensure the operating room is prepared with all necessary supplies, implants, instrumentation, and equipment
  • Pass medical instruments to surgeons during operations
  • Review charts for completeness and accuracy, in accordance with documentation protocols
  • Communicate effectively with patients, teammates, and physicians to ensure continuity of care

Requirements

  • Advanced Cardiac Life Support (ACLS) certification within 90 days of employment start date
  • Basic Cardiac Life Support (BCLS) certification within 30 days of employment start date
  • Pediatric Advanced Life Support (PALS) certification within 90 days of employment start date
  • Registered Nurse (RN) licensure
  • Associate Degree in Nursing
  • Certified Registered Nurse First Assistant (CRNFA), Certified First Assistant, or Certified Surgical First Assistant (CFA) certification
