Position Overview

ViaPath Technologies is in search of a Digital Forensic Analyst. This role involves delivering specialized forensic services to client personnel. In this pivotal position, you will leverage your expertise to extract data from legally obtained mobile devices, scrutinize the information, and support investigative teams in generating actionable insights both within the facility and in collaboration with law enforcement. The ideal candidate will be a team player, adept at managing multiple tasks, and possess outstanding verbal and written communication abilities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Exhibit proficiency in data extraction and analytical processes.
  • Demonstrate a solid understanding of departmental and corporate protocols, as well as industry best practices related to electronic evidence management.
  • Achieve and maintain necessary forensic certifications while applying established extraction techniques and best practices.
  • Analyze data to identify trends and potential areas of interest within the facility.
  • Assist with investigations using specialized software designed for forensic data extraction, data mining, and link analysis.
  • Show a foundational understanding of investigative and intelligence methodologies, including the intelligence cycle.
  • Prepare comprehensive reports for supervisors and facility management regarding forensic and intelligence activities and findings.
  • Participate in court proceedings or other administrative hearings as required.
  • Perform additional duties as assigned.
Qualifications
  • A Bachelor's degree in Criminal Justice, Security and Intelligence, or a related Business field is preferred; however, a combination of relevant experience and education may be considered in lieu of a degree.
  • At least 2 years of relevant experience, including Digital/Cellular Forensics, intelligence reporting and analysis, and strong investigative skills.
  • Capability to obtain and maintain necessary forensic certifications, including logical and physical data extraction and chip-off techniques. Existing certifications from Cellebrite and MSAB are preferred.
  • Ability to develop a basic understanding of intelligence operations within a correctional setting, including institutional processes and criminal law.
  • Exceptional verbal and written communication skills.
  • Preparedness to testify in court or other administrative hearings as necessary.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Windows OS and Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Willingness to learn ViaPath and third-party software applications within the initial months of employment.
  • Capacity to thrive in a fast-paced environment and meet deadlines.
  • Strong analytical skills with a keen interest in conducting investigations and reporting findings.
  • Proactive approach to tasks.
  • Ability to manage confidential information responsibly.
  • Fluency in English (both written and verbal) is required; proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
