Position Title: Senior Principal Systems Engineer, Flight Control Systems
Location: San Jose, CA
Salary Range: $244,860.00 to $269,346.00 annually

Key Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the architecture, development, and certification processes for Archer's Aircraft Flight Control System and its associated embedded software.
  • Establish project roadmaps, timelines, and prioritize tasks while tracking and communicating progress effectively.
  • Evaluate architectural concepts, conduct trade-off analyses, and support the advancement of the Flight Control System and its embedded software.
  • Define and validate the interfaces between the Flight Control System and other aircraft systems.
  • Assist in the formulation and execution of certification plans, verification strategies, and procedures in compliance with relevant aviation standards.
  • Engage in the development, validation, and verification of low-level requirements that are intricately linked to the hardware and software architectures.
  • Contribute to the integration and testing of the Flight Control System, supporting both laboratory and aircraft integration efforts.
  • Collaborate closely with suppliers to select, procure, design, and construct components of the Flight Control System, integrating various software components developed by Archer and/or suppliers.
Minimum Educational Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Aerospace Engineering, or a related discipline.

Minimum Experience Requirements: A minimum of 10 years of experience in the development and testing of Aircraft Flight Control Systems and their embedded software.

Special Requirements: Proficiency in interpreting aircraft certification regulations and guidance from domestic and international aviation authorities.

Travel Requirements: Up to 20% international travel.
