About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Optometric Tech to join our team at National Vision. As an Optometric Tech, you will play a vital role in ensuring high-quality patient care and maintaining a professional atmosphere in our doctor's office and pretest room.

Key Responsibilities

• Ensure high-quality patient care by maintaining a clean and organized workspace, and adhering to all safety protocols.
• Maintain a professional atmosphere by ensuring the doctor's office and pretest room are clean, organized, and well-maintained.
• Develop a strong understanding of ocular terminology and diseases, and be able to explain them to patients in a clear and concise manner.
• Complete necessary paperwork and perform testing on patients prior to the doctor's examination.
• Promote visual field testing and retinal screenings to eligible patients, and ensure that all necessary equipment is properly maintained.
• Review prescriptions and patient information carefully, and identify any special needs or requirements.
• Consult with the optician, doctor, or retail management as needed to ensure that all patient needs are met.

Requirements

• Previous retail or optical experience is preferred, but not required.
• Strong customer service skills, with the ability to communicate effectively with patients and colleagues.
• Ability to learn optical knowledge and stay up-to-date on the latest developments in the field.
• Excellent organizational skills, with the ability to multitask and manage multiple priorities.
• Professional attitude and appearance, with a strong commitment to maintaining a clean and organized workspace.
