Fertilizer Operations Manager Job Description
**Job Summary**
The Fertilizer Operations Manager is responsible for overseeing the fertilizer operations team, including the fertilizer setup team and truck drivers. This role involves coordinating activities, managing inventory, and ensuring regulatory compliance.
**Key Responsibilities**
* Manage fertilizer inventory and bulk storage for tank farm operations
* Direct the blending of liquid and dry fertilizers
* Analyze product profitability and efficient utilization of company-owned equipment
* Assist the branch manager in developing marketing plans to maximize fertilizer income
* Provide technical training to the branch sales team
* May be required to drive a company vehicle as needed
**Requirements**
* High school diploma or equivalent required; Bachelor's degree preferred
* Three to five years of relevant work experience required
* Thorough understanding of fertilizer products, blending, logistics, and marketing strategies required
* Valid U.S. driver's license required
**Preferred Skills**
* Leadership experience
* Knowledge of DOT regulations
* Working knowledge of Microsoft Office
* Knowledge of small engine and pump repair
* Welding experience
* Marketing experience
**Work Environment**
The work environment for this position is a typical warehouse and distribution environment with moderate to loud noise levels. The employee will regularly work near moving equipment and could be exposed to fumes, airborne particles, chemical and biological hazards, and a risk of electrical shock. The employee will be required to lift or move up to 100 pounds.
