We are seeking a highly skilled Financial Services Specialist to join our team at the East Texas Council of Governments. As a key member of our Financial Operations Division, you will play a vital role in ensuring the accuracy and efficiency of our financial processes.
Key Responsibilities- Process accounts receivable, accounts payable, and payroll, ensuring compliance with all relevant laws, regulations, contracts, and grants.
- Manage our general ledger, maintain accurate financial records for audits and state agency reporting, and provide vital support to program managers by delivering accurate and timely information on program funding.
- Assist with grant management, back up our payroll processing team, and contribute to the overall financial management of the organization.
- 5 years' experience in a business accounting setting or 2 years' experience with governmental or grant fund accounting.
- Skills in excel spreadsheets, excellent organizational and problem-solving abilities, and a desire to work in a collaborative team environment.
The East Texas Council of Governments is a voluntary association of counties, cities, school districts, and special districts within the fourteen-county East Texas region. We assist local governments in planning for common needs, cooperating for mutual benefit, and coordinating for sound regional development.
