Position Title: Commercial Security Locksmith Specialist
Reports To: General Manager or Franchise Owner


Key Responsibilities:

The Locksmith Specialist role is a hands-on technical position in the field, crucial for the company's development. The specialist travels to various commercial client locations, such as educational institutions, religious organizations, and manufacturing facilities, to diagnose issues and service locks, doors, and related hardware. They are responsible for the installation and maintenance of new locking systems, smart locks, door closers, panic hardware, and more. Continuous learning about the latest technological advancements in the security sector is essential, as they assist clients daily.


Primary Duties Include:

  • 3+ years of experience in commercial locksmithing within business environments.
  • Install, service, maintain, repair, and replace doors, frames, locks, keys, and related hardware.
  • Cut keys to specifications, duplicate keys, and rekey locks.
  • Perform commercial lock re-keying and pinning.
  • Repair doors, panic hardware, and door closers.
  • Install door frames and doors.
  • Utilize smartphone applications and software for client check-ins and payment processing.
  • Install, repair, and maintain commercial door and locking systems.
  • Install, repair, and maintain access control systems.
  • Modify hardware for locks as necessary.
  • Create and manage master key systems.
  • Install surveillance cameras and access control hardware.

Qualifications, Skills, and Knowledge:

  • Minimum of 3-5 years of hands-on technical experience in locksmithing, access control, door hardware, or related trades.
  • Strong verbal and communication skills.
  • Quick learner with the ability to work independently.
  • Effective team player.
  • Capable of working safely on ladders.
  • Must adhere to company vehicle policies while driving.
  • Deliver high-quality and timely customer service.
  • Communicate effectively with clients to assess their needs.
  • Respond to general inquiries from customers.

Physical Requirements:

  • Fluent in English, both spoken and written.
  • Ability to lift, push, and pull weights ranging from 50 lbs to 100 lbs.
  • Must be able to drive company vehicles.
  • Complete the application process successfully.
  • Ability to kneel, crouch, and stoop as needed.
  • Reach above and below shoulder height.
  • Use hands and fingers for grasping, twisting, and pulling tasks.
  • Climb ladders and work at heights.
  • Withstand various weather conditions throughout the year.
