Role Overview:
As a Surgical Technologist, you will play a vital role in the operating room, supporting the surgical team under the guidance of a Registered Nurse. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Preparing the sterile field and ensuring all necessary supplies and equipment are ready for surgical procedures.
  • Assisting in patient draping and ensuring that all surgical team members are properly gowned and gloved.
  • Collecting and labeling specimens during surgeries, ensuring proper handling and communication with the circulator.

Key Responsibilities:
In this role, you will:

  • Set up and maintain a sterile environment, ensuring all necessary instruments and supplies are available.
  • Participate in the counting of surgical instruments and materials with the RN during procedures.
  • Assist in patient positioning and safety measures throughout the surgical process.
  • Collect and label surgical specimens as per the surgeon's instructions.

Qualifications:
To be considered for this position, candidates should possess:

  • A degree from an accredited surgical technology program.
  • Current certification as a Surgical Technologist.
  • Basic Life Support (BLS) certification.

Work Environment:
This role requires the ability to work effectively in a fast-paced and sometimes stressful environment. Candidates should be prepared for physical demands, including lifting and positioning patients.
