Job Overview

Verdantas is seeking a highly skilled Municipal Staff Engineer II to join our team in Newark, Ohio. As a key member of our municipal engineering team, you will be responsible for assisting project managers with technical and civil engineering design, performing technical engineering work associated with municipal and transportation clients, and attending meetings with municipal officials, engineers, developers, and contractors.

Responsibilities
  • Assist project managers with technical and civil engineering design, including roadway design, multimodal design, stormwater management design, and utility design.
  • Perform technical engineering work associated with municipal and transportation clients, including road design, stormwater management, and utility design.
  • Attend meetings with municipal officials, engineers, developers, and contractors to discuss project details and progress.
  • Support technical report writing and communicate outcomes effectively to team members and clients.
  • Collaborate with and observe contractors during construction to ensure projects are completed on time and within budget.
Qualifications
  • Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering from an ABET-accredited institution.
  • 2-4 years of experience in civil engineering consulting.
  • Proficient with AutoCAD Civil 3D or Bentley Geopak/Openroads required.
  • Familiarity with stormwater modeling software is a plus.
  • Candidate must be able to pass a background check and drug test.
