Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Line Cook to join our culinary team at the Gateway Hotel & Conference Center. As a key member of our kitchen staff, you will be responsible for preparing menu items to the highest standards and working closely with our Executive Chef to ensure exceptional quality and presentation.

Key Responsibilities
  • Prepare and cook menu items to order, using a variety of cooking techniques and ingredients.
  • Set up and stock stations with necessary supplies, including food, equipment, and utensils.
  • Maintain a clean and organized work area, adhering to our "clean as you go" philosophy.
  • Ensure all products are properly labeled, dated, and rotated, in accordance with food safety regulations.
  • Assess food items daily to ensure they meet quality standards, discarding any items that do not meet these standards.
  • Follow established documentation procedures, including temperature logs and waste management.
  • Work collaboratively with the kitchen management team to ensure efficient service and high-quality food presentation.
  • Perform other duties as assigned by the Executive Chef or Sous Chef.
Requirements
  • High school diploma or equivalent.
  • Minimum one year of experience in a hotel, restaurant, or similar venue.
  • Weekend availability and flexibility are necessary.
  • Ability to squat, lift, and push 50lbs.
  • Excellent verbal communication and organizational skills.
  • Ability to execute tasks in an accurate and timely manner.
  • Knowledge of basic sanitation techniques and cooking methods.
