The Registered Nurse in the role of House Supervisor plays a crucial part in the Nursing Administrative Team at our healthcare organization. Reporting directly to the Director of House Supervision, this position is responsible for overseeing clinical nurse staffing during the absence of the unit director, ensuring that staffing requirements are fulfilled as patient numbers vary throughout the shift.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Evaluates, organizes, and manages daily staffing allocations and requirements.
  • Offers guidance, training, coaching, and mentorship to nursing staff.
  • Exhibits leadership qualities that inspire and develop team members.
  • Implements the organization's mission, vision, and core values in daily operations.
  • Maintains composure and makes decisive leadership choices in high-pressure situations.
  • Incorporates evidence-based practices into operational and clinical guidelines.

Additional Responsibilities:

  • Completes other tasks as assigned.
  • Participates in staff meetings and committee activities.
  • Upholds a professional appearance and complies with dress code policies.

Organizational Standards:

  • Adheres to the organization's performance standards.

Leadership Skills:

  • Supervises nursing personnel including RNs, LPNs, and Nurse Technicians.

Qualifications:

  • Education: Bachelor of Science in Nursing is required.
  • Skills: Proficient computer skills, effective communication in English, ability to thrive under pressure.
  • Certifications: BLS, ACLS, PALS, NRP are mandatory.
  • Experience: A minimum of 3 years in clinical practice, with prior house supervision experience preferred.
