Job Description

Cavalier Healthcare of Trussville LLC is seeking a skilled Nursing Supervisor to join our team. As a key member of our healthcare team, you will be responsible for providing exceptional nursing care to our residents and leading our nursing staff in delivering high-quality care.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Assess the overall status of our residents and document their care plans.
  • Monitor and provide nursing care in accordance with physician orders, care plans, and facility protocols.
  • Coordinate new admissions, transfers, and discharges, ensuring a smooth transition for our residents.
  • Communicate effectively with residents, families, and healthcare professionals to ensure their needs are met.
  • Lead and supervise licensed personnel, ensuring they have the necessary resources and support to deliver exceptional care.
  • Schedule job assignments and duties, ensuring our nursing staff is equipped to meet the needs of our residents.
  • Supervise, evaluate, and discipline nursing staff, promoting a culture of excellence and accountability.
  • Assist with in-service training programs, ensuring our staff is up-to-date on the latest care practices and protocols.
  • Monitor the environment and care practices of our nursing staff, ensuring compliance with established fire, disaster, safety, infection control, and blood-borne pathogen programs.
  • Delegate duties to nursing staff, promoting a collaborative and supportive work environment.
  • Evaluate and assist with the evaluations of nursing staff, ensuring they have the necessary skills and training to deliver exceptional care.
  • Report occupational exposure in accordance with established facility protocol.
  • Make daily rounds to all resident care areas, observing nursing staff as they perform their duties.
  • Be knowledgeable about and promote resident rights, preventing abuse, neglect, and exploitation.
  • Promote a safe, clean environment for our residents, ensuring their well-being and comfort.
  • Check the 24-hour report daily, staying informed about changes in resident conditions and treatment plans.
  • Assist with M.D.S.+ and Total Care Plan meetings, as indicated.
  • Perform other duties and responsibilities as requested by the Director of Nursing.
  • Assist on the floor as needed, providing support to our nursing staff and residents.

Requirements:

  • Hold a current Registered Nurse (R.N.) license in good standing with the Board of Nursing in the state where the facility is located.
  • Ability to tolerate a high-paced environment, taking and giving instructions well, and enjoying working with the elderly.
  • Ability to sit for prolonged periods, as well as tolerate prolonged standing and walking.
