Position Title: Senior Electrical Systems Engineer

Location: Remote/Hybrid

Employment Type: Full-time Permanent with AXISCADES.

Position Overview

The Senior Electrical Systems Engineer will collaborate with the Switchgear production team to oversee project documentation for manufacturing and as-built records. This role will focus on optimizing EPLAN software and aiding in the creation of training resources for the team.

Key Responsibilities

  • Revise existing project schematics and databases as necessary.
  • Evaluate project requests concerning technical electrical controls design and the implementation of electrical controls hardware.
  • Work collaboratively to enhance EPLAN CAD software, including the development of libraries, templates, circuits, and databases.
  • Contribute to the preparation of training materials and facilitate training sessions for the team on EPLAN.

Education & Experience Required

A Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Software Engineering, or a related discipline is required.

3-5 years of relevant experience is necessary, or a Master's degree with at least 1 year of experience, or an Associate's degree with 5+ years of experience.

Prior experience in Power Distribution and/or Electrical Control Systems is advantageous.

Technical Skills Required

Expertise in Electrical Controls and CAD Software Development (beyond basic proficiency).

Experience with the complete lifecycle of EPLAN software development, including business/systems analysis, requirements gathering, functional specification writing, development, testing, and delivery.

Intermediate knowledge of electronic controls equipment in schematic and physical layouts applicable in CAD software (AutoCAD Electrical and EPLAN).

Familiarity with IEEE, NEC, NFPA, ANSI, UL certifications relevant to electrical controls in panels and switchgear.

Technical Skills Desired

Proficiency in MS Access Database, EPLAN, Autodesk AutoCAD Electrical, AUTOLISP.

Soft Skills

Excellent verbal and written communication abilities.

Strong problem-solving capabilities.

Outstanding customer service and interpersonal skills.

Ability to work autonomously and manage time efficiently, handling multiple projects at different stages.
