We are seeking a skilled and experienced Charge Nurse RN to join our team at Ascension. As a key member of our nursing department, you will be responsible for coordinating unit staffing, providing leadership, and ensuring the implementation of clinical objectives and quality patient care in assigned areas.
Key Responsibilities- Leadership and Management: Assign, direct, educate, and monitor nursing and support staff during assigned shifts, ensuring that population-appropriate patient care is provided.
- Performance Evaluations: Contribute to or perform performance evaluations of staff, providing constructive feedback and coaching to improve performance.
- Patient Care Coordination: Assess daily patient care needs, develop and distribute patient care assignments, and evaluate the effectiveness of patient care to identify any issues that affect desired patient outcomes.
- Quality Improvement: Respond to complaints about patient care, manage through established channels, and provide input for hiring, training, directing, development, and evaluating of staff.
- Licensure and Certification: BLS Provider credentialed from the American Heart Association (AHA) and Registered Nurse credentialed from the Illinois Board of Nursing.
- Education: Diploma from an accredited school/college of nursing.
- Work Experience: 1 year of experience required.
