Mead & Hunt, a leading professional services consulting firm, is seeking a skilled Refrigeration/Mechanical Startup Technician to join our team. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for ensuring the successful startup and commissioning of industrial equipment, including refrigeration and mechanical systems.
Key Responsibilities- Complete startup checklists and commission equipment for industrial equipment, including screw compressors, reciprocating compressors, evaporative condensers, evaporators, pumps, and air handling units.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot equipment issues during startup, developing pump down and tie-in plans as needed.
- Redline as-built drawings, piping and instrumentation diagrams (P&IDs), equipment schedules, and layout drawings to ensure accuracy and compliance.
- Manage ARM/PSM documentation and perform mechanical integrity inspections to ensure equipment is operating safely and efficiently.
- Review construction drawings for constructability and serviceability, identifying potential issues and recommending solutions.
- At least eight years of relevant experience in refrigeration and mechanical systems startup and commissioning.
- Strong knowledge of industrial equipment, including refrigeration and mechanical systems, and ability to interpret construction drawings and specifications.
- Excellent communication and organizational skills, with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
- CIRO/CARO certification is highly desirable.
