Pharmacist - PRN

Cardinal Health is seeking a PRN Pharmacist to work as needed during facility hours and on call. The facility is open Monday-Friday, 8:30am to 5:00pm and on call after hours and weekends.

• Verify physician orders using the pharmacy information system and make adjustments according to protocols for a given medication.
• Supervise Pharmacy Technicians to ensure the compliant and efficient operations of the pharmacy.
• Adjust dosages based on established protocols for each drug, ensuring that dosages are appropriate for the patient's condition and in light of other medications the patient is using.
• Educate patients on the proper use and expected effects of medications.
• Manage narcotics and inventory control and compliance, including regular documentation and completion of checklists.
• Assist the Pharmacy Director in maintaining the pharmacy's accreditation and in implementing operational changes within the pharmacy.

• Bachelor's degree in pharmacy or PharmD.
• Must be a 'good standing' licensed Pharmacist in the state of Texas.
• IV certified or ability to obtain certification.
• Prior inpatient/hospital experience preferred.
• Ability to hear, write, and speak clearly in order to communicate with customers and health care professionals.
• Strong customer service skills.
• Computer savvy to learn and perform successful operation of multiple pharmacy information systems.
• Flexibility to work various shifts.
• Ability to work on call or be in an on call rotation.
