Position Summary:
The Procurement Buyer is accountable for sourcing spare parts, services, and other necessities for both external and internal clients, including various operational units. The buyer is tasked with ensuring optimal pricing and lead times to fulfill these requirements.
Key Responsibilities:
- Identify and procure goods, materials, components, or services in alignment with established supply chain strategies.
- Lead negotiations and commercial discussions with supply chain partners to secure the best possible terms (cost, delivery time, and quality).
- Prepare and issue purchase orders, ensuring adherence to Airbus purchasing policies, procedures, and legal standards.
- Monitor and report on departmental savings and inefficiencies, collaborating with the Head Office Procurement to set annual savings goals and implement related strategies.
- Continuously assess supplier performance and engage in commercial discussions with relevant stakeholders.
- Enhance supply chain resilience by developing, managing, and restoring supplier relationships.
- Guarantee the uninterrupted supply of necessary goods and materials through diligent order follow-up and supply chain evaluations.
- Analyze supply chain risks and opportunities using LEAN methodologies to maximize the value of goods and services.
- Prepare and present briefs, updates, and reports to internal and external stakeholders, including cross-functional teams.
Additional Duties:
- Coordinate effectively with vendors and customers.
- Participate in and support internal meetings.
- Assist with logistics, including warehouse and customs regulations, as required.
- Perform other assigned duties as necessary.
Qualifications:
Education:
- Bachelor's Degree in Business, Supply Chain Management, or a related field.
Experience:
- A minimum of 4 years in procurement, supply chain, logistics, or a related area.
- Experience in Third Party Repair, Tooling, and Calibration is advantageous but not mandatory.
- Background in Aerospace is a plus but not essential.
- Experience managing international vendors in fabrication is beneficial but not required.
- Familiarity with technical data and drawings is preferred.
Skills and Competencies:
- Understanding of standard shipping and receiving protocols.
- Familiarity with online shipment tracking systems.
- Ability to comprehend Customs and ITAR regulations is a plus.
- Experience in interpreting engineering drawings.
- Basic negotiation and financial skills.
- Proven ability to work effectively within a team.
- Customer-oriented and analytical mindset.
- Demonstrated problem-solving capabilities.
- Ability to thrive in a multicultural environment.
Language Proficiency:
- Fluency in both written and spoken English and Spanish is required.
Technical Skills:
- Proficient in MS Office Suite (Word, Excel, Outlook).
- Knowledge of online search engines.
- Experience with ERP systems is advantageous (e.g., SAP, Pentagon 2000).
Travel Requirements:
- Less than 10% travel.
Eligibility:
- Must be authorized to work in the U.S.

Physical Requirements:
This position involves sitting, standing, walking, and bending. The jobholder will operate in an office setting without direct involvement in the physical handling of parts.
